Person arrested in hit-and-run accident

Muscat: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) has arrested a person for running over a citizen and fleeing the scene of the accident.

ROP said in a statement: "Muscat Governorate Police Command, in cooperation with the Directorate General of Inquiries and Criminal Investigation, was able to arrest a person on charges of running over a citizen and fleeing from the scene of the accident, causing the death of the victim. By searching and investigating, the accused was found and he confessed to committing the crime. The legal procedures are being completed against him."
