
Muscat: The MSX index closed at 4,032.67 points, up 0.05 per cent from the previous close. The Sharia Index ended down by 0.01 per cent at 546.64 points.
Al Maha Ceramics was the top gainer, up by 2.00 per cent, while Oman Fisheries, down 7.35 per cent, was the top loser. Shares of Sohar International Bank was the most active in terms of the number of shares traded while Bank Muscat was the most active in terms of turnover.
A total number of 313 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating a turnover of OMR1.41 million, with more than 7.86 million shares changing hands. Out of 46 traded securities, 8 advanced, 12 declined and 26 remained unchanged. At the session close, Domestic investors were net sellers for OMR45,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net buyers for OMR24,000 followed by foreign investors for OMR21,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 6,379.51 points, up 0.06 per cent. Bank Sohar, Vision Insurance, Sohar International Bank, and Bank Muscat were up by 1.54 per cent, 1.23 per cent, 0.95 per cent, and 0.41 per cent respectively. Oman & Emirates Investment Holding, United Finance, Taageer Finance, Ominvest, and Ahli bank were down 2.86 per cent, 1.79 per cent, 1.37 per cent, 1.29 per cent, and 0.91 per cent respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 6,122.70 points, up 0.08 per cent. Al Maha Ceramics, Al Anwar Ceramics, and Oman Cement were up by 2.00 per cent, 0.50 per cent, and 0.42v respectively. Oman Fisheries shares were down 7.35 per cent.
Services Index was down by 0.40 per cent before closing at 1,628.06 points. OIFC shares were up by 1.45 per cent. Muscat Desalination, Ooredoo Oman, Oman National Engineering, Al Batinah Power, and Renaissance Services were down by 2.53 per cent, 2.17 per cent, 2.13 per cent, 1.92 per cent, and 1.83 per cent respectively.
