We are in the Holy Month of Ramadan and owing to the ongoing pandemic this year it's certainly a different Ramadan. With no family meetings and Iftar gatherings as precautionary and preventive measures to fight the Covid-19 pandemic it can be easy to fall into a predictable routine. But let us keep the spirit of the Holy Month by staying positive and by showing resilience in facing the calamity. This weekend here are the few things you can do.
1. Do a good deed
This is the right time for spiritual development and being at home makes it all the more easier. Apart from fasting and performing daily prayers and reading the Holy Quran, it is also time to do a good deed. From donating to charity or helping a person in difficulty there are many ways to do a noble act, especially in fighting the Covid-19 crisis together. It is also an opportunity to appreciate our loved ones and be grateful.
2. Cook a hearty iftar meal
While you miss the elaborate iftar buffets at your friends place or at your favourite restaurant, this year why not create your own feast? It's true you will miss those good old days of your home full of guests, you can still cook some new recipes for your family at home. This weekend you can also plan a virtual iftar with your relatives and friends.
3.Go for walks
If you are unable to go for walks during the weekdays, weekend is the perfect time especially during Ramadan. Brisk walk for 30 minutes a day is helpful to keep you fit and energetic during the fasting hours. Do some moderate exercise just before you break your fast at Iftar, and again just before going to bed, as well as right before Suhoor.
4. Read a motivational book
Ramadan is the month for reflection and self-improvement and this can be easily achieved by reading an inspirational book. While reading the Holy Quran is an absolute must read, there are many books which will help you to delve deeper into spirituality.
